This blog is about luck.

In the sports world, whenever a team gets a lucky break, you’ll often hear the announcer repeat the old adage – “I’d rather be lucky than good!” And while this may sometimes be true in the sports world, it’s completely the opposite when it comes to your health. If you are one of those people who rely on luck for your future health, you are asking for trouble.

Leaving anything up to luck is a recipe for disaster. A sports team, a business, and yes, a human body. Management by luck and hoping for the best rarely works out well for anyone. Except maybe for the person from Simpsonville who won $1.5 Billion. But even for them, if they don’t have a plan for their money or for their life, they’ll also be in trouble. No question.

So what about you?

What are you relying on for your health?

Hope? Luck?

Or a strategy?

The smartest people, and the healthiest people, have a strategy they employ to grow their health- month after month, year after year. And this strategy usually encompasses MANY different aspects of health.

Diet, exercise, meditation/relaxation/visualization, rest, chiropractic.

So here’s my suggestion to you…do these 3 things and you will no longer be leaving your health up to luck.

  1. Develop a vision and a goal for where you want your health to be in 5-10-20-40 years.

  2. List the areas of life you need to improve upon and make a list of 3-5 action steps for each area. 3-5 things that if you do them, they will improve your health.

  3. Every day, focus on keeping yourself on track and take baby steps. Don’t get frustrated if you have an “off day”. Just get back up the next day and get back on track.

Now you may have noticed that I mentioned Chiropractic as a strategy to improve ones health. “I thought chiropractic was for bad backs?” But many people use chiropractic to positively impact their overall health. In fact, it’s as important as eating right or exercising in getting healthier. If it’s not part of your lifestyle, you should consider it.
